Job Title: IT Security Engineer Consultant

Department: Information Technology/Security

Reports to: CISO

Salary Range: $90.00 - $125.00 per hour

US BASED, NO SPONSORSHIP

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Engineer / Security Architect to join our team. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking to design, implement, and maintain robust security solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of security principles, practices, and technologies. This is a hands-on experience role.

• Project Based Work
• Will be required to come into the client’s office 1-2 times a week and/or on demand.
• Background check required

Key Responsibilities:

• Security Architecture:

• Design and implement a comprehensive security architecture, including network, application, and infrastructure security.
• Develop and maintain security standards, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analysis to identify potential threats and weaknesses.

• Security Engineering:
  • Configure and deploy security tools and technologies (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, etc.).
  • Perform security incident response and threat hunting activities.
  • Monitor security systems and logs to identify and respond to security events.
  • Conduct security audits and penetration testing to assess security posture.

• Technical Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of network security protocols (TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, VPN, etc.).
  • Experience with security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, WAF).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Understanding of cloud security concepts and technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with development, operations, and other teams to ensure security is integrated into the development lifecycle.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends and threats.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Relevant industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, etc.).
• 5+ years of experience in information security.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluent English communication

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with security automation and orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).
• Experience with cloud security and migration projects.
