JOB TITLE: Accounts Receivable Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Accounting

REPORTS TO: Accounting Supervisor

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST SUMMARY: This opportunity is perfect for someone that wants to build upon their accounting career in a relaxed environment. This is not a data entry role. Our role requires independent thinking and incorporates on-demand responsibilities .

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversight of Accounts Receivable process including but not limited to:
• Managing Accounts Receivable email account
• Recording customer purchase orders
• Recording customer change orders
• Entering pre-bid creations for projects
• Creating and editing customer contracts
• Creating customer sales invoices
• Completing AIA Continuation Sheet and Payment Applications
• Completing Lein Waivers
• Application of customer payments
• Generating customer account statements
• Collection of past due customer payments
• Reviewing Accounts Receivable Aging for accuracy; researching and addressing any issues
• Address internal and external requests related to customer accounts and transactions
• Oversight of sales tax processing including but not limited to utilizing Avalara platform as well as some manual filings
• Oversight of deferred revenue process including maintaining supporting schedule
• Support external auditor and other 3rd party organizations information requests
• Ad-hoc reports and projects as needed
• Cross train as backup and supplemental support for other accounting department roles
• Ability to clearly document work procedures with screenshots and step by step guidance.
• Clocks in and out for activities throughout the day in Pierson Wireless’ project management cloud solution.
• Safely operates company-provided equipment and vehicles and follows all local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
• Submits all receipts and expense records.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This position does not currently hold any supervisory responsibilities but will require interaction within the department and with those outside the department and company.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST DECISION-MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This job has limited decision-making responsibilities, but initiative and a pro-active approach are tantamount.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate's Degree in business, accounting, or finance required.
• Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant experience with at least 1 Year concentrated on AR.
• AccountEdge, Vista, and Avalara software experience is preferred but not required.
• Construction or contract accounting experience is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Stable work history.

• Basic Computer Skills –
• Quickly learns and achieves proficiency in new software applications as needed.
• Demonstrates ability to create formulas in MS Excel; run queries in company software applications.

• Hybrid - Office/cubicle/shared workspace with moderate noise level four days a week with Friday’s remote.
